and kinda lost my phojo... :(
I've been busy with some other projects lately so haven't been doing much photography. Will has been keeping me super busy as well.
Project Number One: Learning to knit
...and making Will a beanie (for photos of course!).
I found a pattern book at lincraft and some gorgeous blue wool and set to. I had a lot of trouble with the ribbing (I lose concentration really easily - I'll blame sleep deprivation) but eventually got there. The pattern didn't state a size but it was pictured on an older baby so I figured it would fit. It does - just!
First wear though and we left it behind at someone's house. I'm making another one though (different style) in a bigger size and maybe a pair of mittens to match.

It's meant to have the brim folded up but then it is a bit too small really and slips off his head. I had to distract him with the lens cap because he was over photos already...
The next one in progress:
Project Number Two: Making Will a quilt.
I made a quilt (very basic) back in textiles in high school. I haven't done much sewing since then but have been wanting to make a quilt for Will since I was pregnant (but didn't find out the gender). I had a picture in my head of what I wanted for a boy (red.white.blue / dots.stripes.checks) but hadn't got around to sourcing fabrics etc. Then a new patchwork shop opened in our local shopping strip - I wandered in and there on the wall was the quilt in my head. The only addition was some blocks with ships on it. They had a kit - so I was sold!
These are the fabrics I'm using:
I'll update with a progress pic later this week.
